Scorpio Craftsmen remodeled the interior of this 19th-century cabin turning it into a modern retreat while retaining its historic feel. We relocated the bathroom to the rear of the house, then installed a flush steel beam to support the open plan dining area and reading nook. We preserved the existing wood floor by patching in reclaimed Eastern white pine and refinishing the entire surface. We added tin panels around the chimney as well as a new ceramic tile hearth. Finally, we installed a brand-new spa bathroom floored with reclaimed long leaf pine that provides continuity with the rest of the house.
